Have a Painting Party with Friends!
If your kids have exhausted the list of things to do with their friends, we’ve got the perfect thing! Spice things up with a painting party! Painting is a great way to relax and exercise the creative parts of our brains. It’s also an activity that is equally enjoyed outdoors or indoors. If the weather is nice, the kids can enjoy a fresh breeze while painting and sipping on a cool glass of lemonade. If the weather is not to your advantage, an indoor painting party is just as fun!
If your kids love all things art, Little Passports has a ton of fun kits just for them! Check out our Junior Artist: Global Art & Celebrations Kit, which includes an around the world painting kit, our Color & Craft: Tie Dye & Kaleidoscope Kit, or our World Edition subscription, which is full of globally inspired crafts.
Let’s Have a Paint Party!
Supplies:
- An assortment of paints
- Paintbrushes
- Canvasses
- Paper plates
- Plastic cups
- Tablecloth
To ensure an easy cleanup, prepare your art table with a tablecloth. Set up a station for each kid, complete with a canvas, paintbrushes, a paper plate, and a plastic cup. The paper plates will act as the kids’ paint palettes and the plastic cups will be their rinse stations in between colors. Once the setup is complete, it’s time to paint! It might be fun to choose a theme for the painting party. This will also help if the kids are feeling stuck on what to paint.
Example Themes:
- Favorite Animals
- Sunsets and Scenery
- Fantasy (unicorns, dragons, etc.)
- Portraits
- Abstract Art
- My Perfect Day
- My Dream Vacation
- Places I’d Like to Visit
But don’t stop here! Encourage the kids to exercise their creativity and come up with their own themes! We can’t wait to see what your kids create. Tag us on Instagram @littlepassports so we can see their creations!
