This week, our creative friend Brandy has shared a colorful guide to throwing a Little Passports themed birthday party, complete with snacks and crafts! This is an awesome idea for the adventurous kiddo in your life. Read on to learn more.

Is your little explorer having a birthday soon? Host a travel-themed adventure party. You can find plenty of inspiration in the fun activities in your Little Passport subscription!

Planning the Activities

My son’s favorite souvenir from our World Edition subscription is the dig kit from the Egypt package. How fun would a sandbox “excavation” be for friends to do at a party?

Leading an entire dig seem too stressful? No worries, here are some other travel activities by the Little Passports subscriptions:

1. Travel to Japan and try your hand at a simple origami project.

2. Go to China and make a beautiful paper fan, then eat your party snacks with chopsticks.

3. Visit Hawaii and learn how to do the Hula.

4. No party is complete without a piñata! Hop back on the plane to Mexico and make your own mini piñatas out of paper bags for the kids to take home. Or make these in advance to hand out as party favors!

As the kids complete an activity they can add a stamp or sticker in their passport which can be a fun memento to take home after the party! If you’re not quite ready  to fill up you passport from Little Passports, I made blank ones that you can download here and print for free!

These window bags are perfect for the kids to decorate with stickers and fill with peanuts, pretzels, or dried fruit.

Mini water bottles wrapped in coordinating scrapbook paper are inexpensive and the perfect pair for all of those salty snacks.

And last, but not least, here is an activity for the kids to do at the party or to make ahead of time and use as party favors.

Candy Airplanes

Supplies:
1 roll of hard candies
1 stick of gum
1 hair band
2 breath mints

Step 1: Wrap the candies in paper and secure with tape.

Step 2: Use a hot glue to attach the gum to the top of the candy roll.

Step 3: Stretch out the hairband with your fingers a few times to loosen it a bit. Thread through the center of the breath mints. Pull the hair band over one side of the stick of gum and up and over the other side to secure the “wings” to the plane.

Step 4: Make a whole fleet of planes for your travel party.
