Summer BBQ Game for Kids
Backyard barbecues are a summer staple. They’re filled with food, family, friends, and tons of sunshine. What’s more, kids get to run around outside and play a bunch of lively backyard games. From cornhole to limbo, backyard barbecue games keep spirits high. This summer, add a new game to your bucket list that kids (and adults) of all ages will enjoy! Whether you’re gathered with friends, family, or neighbors, a little friendly competition is always welcome. With this fun water game on the itinerary, they’ll talk about your barbecue all summer long!
What you’ll need:
- Plastic cups
- String
- Hole puncher
- Water guns
How to set up the game:
Step one: Punch two holes at the top of each cup, directly across from each other.
Step two: Run the string through both holes in the cup. Each player or team will need their own string and cup.
Step three: Tie both ends of the string to something to secure it, like a tree or a post. You want the cup to be about eye level.
How to play:
There are two ways to play: one-on-one or with teams. With either variation, the goal of the game is to get the cup to the other side of the string the fastest. Each person or team’s cup will start at the same end. On GO, players will fire at the cup with their water guns, pushing it along the string with their stream of water. If you’re playing with teams, once someone gets to the end, switch off and have the next player try to get the cup to the original starting point. Go back and forth until all players have had a turn. First people to finish win!
